World Tourism Day
20 September 2018 - 23 September 2018
The Vila Town Council has organised a number of free activities as part of World Tourism Day, starting on 20 September 2018 – four days packed with free activities and workshops between 20 and 23 September (inclusive). We hope you have a great time!
Full programme of events:
Thursday 20 September:
- Day of the Museum – All of the Municipal Museums will be free.
- Special local produce tasting at Mercat Vell, from 6:30pm to 9pm.
- Diving induction in the Posidonia Meadows at 3pm. Scuba Ibiza Diving Centre – Marina Botafoch – 12 places available. You must sign up in advance at our Tourist Information Office, La Curia, via email or by phone: informacioturistica@eivissa.es– 971 39 92 32
Friday 21 September:
Creative workshops at the Sa Pedrera Craft Centre (Sa Penya), hosted by craftspeople from the Es Juvert Association. The workshops will take place between 11am and 4pm (no registration required).
- Leather workshop with Veronica Athan
You’ll be taught hammer chiselling with polychrome dyes, braids and sewing with leather straps and can make a piece with your own hands and take it home with you. - Wood workshop with Estibaliz Chamizo
You’ll have the chance to create pieces of recycled wood by employing a variety of techniques. You can keep it as your own souvenir from Ibiza. - Fire enamelling on metal workshop with Judith Serra
You’ll be able to make a piece of fire enamelled copper and develop a recycling technique using pieces of glass melted at high temperatures. - Metal printing workshop with Sebastián Franco
You can print your own text on a bracelet, ring or necklace for you to wear every day. - Silver jewellery workshop with Andreas Manios – Dimitri Katsarlinos
You’ll learn how to make a necklace or earrings making simple forms with silver wire and semi-precious stones. - Artistic ceramic workshop with Carola Barroch
You’ll learn how to easily model and decorate ceramic to give as a gift: a unique, useful and decorative piece.
Special local produce tasting at Mercat Vell, from 6:30pm to 9pm.
Saturday 22 September:
- “Live the Posidonia” program
Visit the Posidonia Meadows located in front of Isla de las Ratas, by kayak or snorkelling – Departure at 9am from in front of Hotel One Ibiza.
(Playa de Figueretas) Free.

There will be performances from a diverse range of Folk groups from different cities and counties (Ciudad Real, Burgos, Portugal and Italy)
Ibiza will be represented by “Colla de Vila”.
Sunday 23 September:
- Dramatised visit to the Puig des Molins Necropolis. – 12.00 pm
