From January 18th to May 16th, the Madina Yabisa Interpretation Centre organizes a series of walking routes to discover the historical, cultural and heritage values of Dalt Vila and its surroundings. These itineraries are free, will be developed on weekends and will have a periodicity of two departures per month.
The first of these itineraries will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 26th of January, and has as its title ‘The city in antiquity’. On this walk you will see the archaeological remains preserved in Dalt Vila that allow you to know the origin and the extension of the city in antiquity. It will explain the archaeological importance of the site of Santa Maria Street, visit the remains of the Phoenician-Punic city that are preserved in the building of the Museum of Contemporary Art and we will discover other vestiges at the foot of the Renaissance wall.
The meeting point is the Cathedral Square, the tour will end in the Parc square and will last approximately two and a half hours. All interested persons can register via email madinayabisa@eivissa.es, or by calling the Madina Yabisa Interpretation Center (tlf. 971 392 390), from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 to 14 hours.
From February, the following itineraries will also be made:
· ‘The streets of Dalt Vila’ (Sunday 9 and Saturday 22 February).
· ‘The bulwarks of the Renaissance Wall and its restoration’ (Sunday 8 and Saturday 21 March)
· ‘Landscapes from Dalt Vila: skyline’ (Sunday 5th and Saturday 18th April)
· ‘The shields of Dalt Vila’ (Sunday 3 and Saturday 16 May).
